What this app is
Gateway Parents is a free informational app for families of Gateway College Preparatory School. It presents school-published calendar events, announcements, resources, and optional notifications. It is a one-way channel from the school to families and is provided as a convenience alongside — not in place of — the school’s other communication methods.
Alerts are best effort
Do not rely on this app as your only source of urgent information. Push notification delivery depends on Apple, Google, and network conditions outside the school’s control, and cannot be guaranteed to arrive, to arrive on time, or to arrive at all if your device is offline, has notifications disabled, or has an expired registration.
For closures, emergencies, and time-critical matters, always also follow the school’s official channels. The school will continue to use those channels independently of this app.
The AI assistant
“Ask gAItor” is an optional AI feature that generates answers from the school’s published information. AI systems can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Answers are informational only and are not official statements of the school.
When an answer matters — enrollment deadlines, medical or safety procedures, financial obligations — confirm it with the front office. Do not submit personal student information to the assistant.
Acceptable use
- Use the app for its intended purpose: staying informed about the school.
- Do not attempt to access non-public systems, disrupt the service, or reverse engineer the app except as permitted by law.
- Do not use automated means to scrape or bulk-download content.
Content and accuracy
School content is created and maintained by school staff and remains the property of the school. We work to keep it accurate and current, but schedules change — the school’s official notices govern in the event of any conflict with what the app displays.
Availability
The app and its supporting services are provided “as is,” without warranty of uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes through the app or the school.
Privacy
Our handling of data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: no accounts, no student records, and no advertising or data sales.
Changes to these terms
We will update this page when these terms change and note the new effective date. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
